Headcover's Unlimited: October's Business Landscape of the Month
Hidden in the historical area of League City is a family business that may be best known on the internet, but maintains a “good neighbor” image.
With majestic oak trees on the property, landscaping a shade garden is a visual treat with textured plants of wisteria, magnolias, ivy, cannas, and azelas. Oleanders, roses and lantana are featured in the sunlit landscaping.
Headcover’s Unlimited grew from a personal experience with cancer. Chemo may be a life saver for cancer patients, but it can be a problem for the patient’s self- image. The business has been serving cancer patients since 1995, making headcovers available to those who have lost their hair through treatments, accidents or unplanned circumstances.

Jimmy Changas: May Business Landscape of the Month
Jimmy Changas is a new, Mexican food restaurant in League City at the Victory Lakes shopping area at 2504 Gulf Fwy. This is a family friendly place that is great for kids with free ice cream and a giant play area.
For the adults, there is a beautiful patio for outdoor dining, or a lively choice of tables and booths for indoors. The popular Houston restaurant was designed with a tropical landscape and a sense of fun. Banana trees, palms and sago’s anchor the plantings with an abundance of colorful annuals.
Heather Alexander, one of the Managers at Jimmy Changas, met with the League City Garden Club members Jane Turner and Judy Anderson to talk about the landscaping. Rocks, sitting benches, and lush tropical plantings have created a welcoming environment for relaxing and dining.

Signature Car Wash: April Business Landscape of the Month
Where do you find a good car wash? In League City, look for Signature Car Wash
at 1299 E. 518, owned by Tony and Carol Griffith. Not only is this car wash clean and safe, it
is beautifully landscaped. Lights and cameras are on hand to keep the area secure. The owner is on site to attend to any concerns.
Signature Car Wash features a “putting green” perfect lawn with palms and succulents. The agave and sago palms stand out against the rock and stone mulched beds. Space is part of the design, with all the plants and rocks given breathing room. Nothing is crowded in this landscape. It gives the feeling of an oasis, but instead of tranquility, it is a busy place where hurried drivers come in to clean their car and be on their way.
Please join the League City Garden Club as we recognize Signature Car Wash as the April Business Landscape of the Month. Congratulations to Tony and Carol Griffith for their contributions to the League City community.

Butler's Courtyard: February Business Landscape of the Month
Winter has been grim, and the sun has become a stranger. Color is hard to find in our League City landscapes. What a surprise at the corner of Michigan and 2nd Street, the home of Butler Courtyard! Bright pansies and snapdragons enhance the hundred year-old building. Nancy Richards and Janice Gunnin are best friends who decided to start a special events business 12 years ago. In the decade since, they have seen their business grow and their friendship thrive along with it. The original property has expanded to include half the city block.
Gardens abound on the property along with fountains and angels. Under the shade of historic oaks and magnolias, seasonal plantings accent the landscape. Many happy couples have exchanged their vows under the trees and chandeliers, while guests and attendants enjoy the historic charm.
Scott Lee of Lee’s Landscaping designs and maintains the Butler Courtyard grounds.
The League City Garden Club is proud to recognize Butler’s Courtyard as the Business Landscape of February, and the best friends who made it happen, Nancy Richards and Janice Gunnin.
