LCGC December Meeting

It's the holiday season, and our garden club is excited to announce our December meeting and holiday party! All club members and guests are welcome to celebrate the holiday season and reflect on the garden club's history and enjoy our friendships.

Wednesday, December 11, 2024

144 Park Ave in League City

(located just off Main St, across the street from League Park and the white gazebo)

10:00 am to 12 noon

Please bring a potluck item-hot dish, salad, appetizer, dessert, or side dish-to share with everyone for our fabulous holiday buffet. Also: PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BEVERAGES!

We will also have our holiday gift exchange for those who would like to participate. The limit on the gift is $20.00.

We have packets of holiday greeting cards with a photo of the decorated bandstand in League Park. These are blank inside. A packet of 5 cards is only $5.00. There is a limited supply, so be sure to get these quickly!

After our meeting, we'll gather across the street in League Park and have our Holiday 2024 photo amid the beautiful decorations at the bandstand!

And finally.....In sharing the holiday spirit and love for our animal friends, we will be collecting food items, toys, blankets, food dishes, etc. for the LC Animal Shelter. Please remember to bring items to help make their holidays happy, too. We will need a few volunteers to help us deliver our gifts to the shelter after the meeting. Cash or check donations are also welcome. Make your check payable to "League City Animal Care". After the meeting, we will take a photo of our donations (piled into Jamie Hart's truck) with our members.

We hope this season is merry and bright for ALL of you, with peace, good health, and happiness in the New Year!

LCGC November meeting

 Hello Garden Club members!

We look forward to seeing you at our November 13 general meeting:

 Wednesday, November 13, 2024

144 Park Ave in League City

(located just off Main St, across the street from League Park and the white gazebo)

10:00 am to 12 noon

Please remember to bring your own water (or beverage) bottle. This is in keeping with our garden pledge to protect the environment by having less disposable products at our meetings. Also, our horticulture table will be open to buy or swap plants and gardening tools, magazines, seeds, and containers.

Thank you to our Hospitality team for this month's refreshments, led by Kathy Dunham.

Our guest speaker this month is Mr. Bob Stokes of the Galveston Bay Foundation, and his presentation is "Because It's Your Bay". The Galveston Bay Foundation is a local non-profit organization that leads programs in habitat restoration, land conservation, education, water protection, advocacy and research. Through the work of the foundation, Galveston Bay is a healthier and more resilient place for animals, marine life, and humans. You won't want to miss his discussion of plant diversity, wildlife, and conservation, plus insight to the foundation's state of the art headquarters on Galveston Bay in Kemah.

See you all on November 13!
